Wired ran an interesting article about the Red camera (http://www.wired.com/entertainment/hollywood/magazine/16-09/ff_redcamera), which is a digital camera whose resolution is finally competitive with 35mm film.  Directors and cinematographers are excited at the prospects; the article mentions Peter Jackson offering to shoot some demo footage, and Steven Soderbergh requesting prototypes.</description>
